Dirk Coetzee, Director at specialised tax services provider, DCA Group, has crunched the competition comprising of over 600 entrants to land a spot as a finalist in the 36th annual Business Partners Limited Entrepreneur of the Year® awards. Counted among South Africa’s top entrepreneurial talents, he now stands ready to vie for one of SA’s most prestigious entrepreneurial titles.
Coetzee is competing in the Small Business Entrepreneur award, which acknowledges those steering businesses with annual turnovers of up to R30 million. Following the introduction of the Tax Administration Act, he saw a gap in the fiduciary industry, specifically in deceased estates and trusts, for specialised tax services. This has allowed executors to outsource these tax needs and benefit from tailor-made solutions.
DCA Group has grown from serving a single local client in 2014, handling 30 instructions, to over 100 clients nationwide with more than 5,500 instructions annually. The company’s clientele includes the trust and estate departments of South Africa’s four largest banks, boutique fiduciary firms, and attorneys offering estate and trust services.
“Dirk’s innovative approach to the fiduciary sector exemplifies the essence of entrepreneurship. By identifying a critical gap in the market and developing tailored solutions, he has not only grown his client base but has also significantly impacted the industry, setting the standard for others to follow,” says David Morobe, Executive General Manager for Impact Investing at Business Partners Limited.
On Thursday, 7 November 2024, the winners in each category—including the coveted Job Creator of the Year—will be unveiled at an awards ceremony in Gauteng. One standout business owner will also claim the title of South Africa’s overall Entrepreneur of the Year®.
