Four Western Cape Founders Compete to be Named SA’s Entrepreneur of the Year®

Of the 600+ entries from across the country, four of the 16 finalists in the 36th annual Business Partners Limited Entrepreneur of the Year® awards represent the Western Cape, the epicentre of South African entrepreneurship.

Now, these trailblazers are ready to battle for one of the nation’s most prestigious entrepreneurial accolades.

Kerushan Govender, Founder and Principal Growth Consultant at Blacfox Enterprises in Century City, shines in the Emerging Entrepreneur category, celebrating those in business for one to five years.

Dirk Coetzee, Director at DCA Group in Durbanville, and Samantha Skyring, CEO of Oryx Desert Salt in Capricorn, are recognised in the Small Business Entrepreneur category, awarded to an individual managing a business with an annual turnover of up to R30 million.

In the Medium Business Entrepreneur category, honouring entrepreneurs leading businesses generating over R30 million in annual revenue, is James Barrington Brown, founder and chairman of Somerset West-based NewSpace Systems, a space component manufacturer.

“The Western Cape has a rich history of innovation and entrepreneurship. We are excited to see how these individuals will perform at this year’s awards,” says David Morobe, Executive General Manager for Impact Investing at Business Partners Limited. “Their success is a testament to the Western Cape’s thriving entrepreneurial spirit.”

On Thursday, 7 November 2024, the winners in each category—including the coveted Job Creator of the Year—will be unveiled at an awards ceremony in Gauteng. One standout business owner will also claim the title of South Africa’s overall Entrepreneur of the Year®.
